Moderator: Emma Fofanah
Emma Fofanah is a seasoned strategy and operations management professional with expertise in private sector development, impact investing, and environmental social & governance (ESG) investment management. Emma has worked with leading organizations in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) investment research and management, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) advocacy. Post-MBA, Emma transitioned her career to international business in Africa and has held several roles in the development and private sector. Currently, Emma is an International Management Consultant focusing on trade, investment, and private sector development. As a native of Sierra Leone, Emma is passionate about contributing to sustainable economic growth and poverty alleviation in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly with fragile States. Emma’s long-term goal is to facilitate investment opportunities in many untapped sectors with socio-economic impacts. Emma’s educational background includes an MBA from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Longwood University.
Elizabeth Montoya
Elizabeth Montoya was the third employee to join Rubicon Technologies, the market-leading innovator in software-based smart waste and recycling solutions. She currently serves as the company’s Chief of Protocol and Investor Relations, leading communications to Rubicon’s investors and its board of directors on which she holds a seat. Montoya also oversees Rubicon’s affinity and employee resource group initiative. Additionally, Montoya is the co-author of the RUBICONMethod™, Rubicon’s six-step guide to successful recycling and waste reduction. In 2015, Montoya became Rubicon’s first Vice President of Investor Relations. Prior to leading investor relations, Montoya served as Rubicon’s first Director of Corporate and Social Responsibility. During this period, Montoya also managed press relations and marketing, and led Rubicon’s successful effort to become a Certified B Corporation in 2012. Montoya earned a B.F.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.T.A. from The George Washington University School of Business.
Manuela Romero
Manuela Romero is a bilingual professional in the sustainability and conservation field with 4+ years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution & Environment and a minor in Sustainability from the George Washington University. Manuela is currently working at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the Private Sector Engagement team as a coordinator helping manage a portfolio of corporate partners that support WWFs conservation mission. Her passion for conservation and sustainability comes from being born and raised in Ecuador, a country with immense biodiversity in need of protection.
Mackenzie Swartz
Mackenzie is the Manager of Partner Relations at Arcadia with three years of experience working in the clean energy tech space. Prior to this role, she worked at the DC Sustainable Energy Utility on implementing their Solar for All program, where she collaborated with several solar developers based in the DMV area. She is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Business, where she majored in International Business with a minor in Sustainability. Mackenzie is passionate about expanding access to community solar and Arcadia's mission to build a 100% renewable energy future.
Elizabeth Woodworth
Elizabeth combines her expertise in sustainability, finance, and policy to help her clients improve ESG performance and reputation. At FINN Partners, an integrated communications agency, Elizabeth serves as sustainability subject matter expert and counsels technology, media, consumer goods and healthcare clients on developing effective sustainability strategies and communicating to a variety of stakeholders including consumers, investors, and policy makers. Her previous experience includes developing human rights policy recommendations for the International Olympic Committee, implementing the Affordable Care Act for two state health insurance exchanges, and managing employee campaigns for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Elizabeth began her career at Lazard Ltd., a global investment bank, driving corporate brand development, media relations, and thought leadership. She has a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Biology from The George Washington University and an M.A. in Environmental Conservation Education from New York University.
