How to Make the Most Out of Spring Conference
By: Josie Agnew
The 2024 Spring Conference is quickly approaching, and we want to ensure that our
first-time attendees are able to make the most of their experience. Included in this post
are a list of tips for anyone who needs a reminder on how to enjoy the Spring Conference
to the fullest extent.
Do some preliminary research: The full speaker list is available on our Spring Conference
website so you may learn a bit about them before meeting them on April 6th. DOing so
can help you to determine which speakers you would like to hear from at the Conference
and know what to expect from each one.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions: Our speakers are here to offer you valuable advice for your
future career, and asking questions to better enhance what you get out of the conference
is important. Upon researching the professionals prior to the event, try making a short list
of broad questions you could ask, which you can later make more specific once you hear
from the speakers.
Take notes: Don’t forget a pen and paper so you may write down anything important you
learn from our speakers. It will be a long day in which a lot of information is thrown at
you, so be sure to take notes in order to keep track of the many different lessons you may
learn.
Don’t feel pressure to participate all day: You are by no means required to stay at the
Conference all day, so if you are feeling overwhelmed or in need of a break feel free to
take a breather and come back, or chat with a GWWIB member about anything that is
concerning you. Our members are always here to support you and answer any questions
you may have throughout the day.
Dress to Impress! The dress code for the Spring Conference is business chic- so wear
something that makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Keep these tips above in mind for April 6th, and we can’t wait to see you then!
